Students at Lake Ridge Elementary School in Nampa raised more than $1,300 for the St. Luke's Children's Hospital this week.
Third-graders in Bekah Graves' class held a change drive Oct. 16-20.
Their efforts were part of Cancer Awareness Week in the Nampa School District.
Mrs. Graves and her students presented their donation to a St. Luke's representative Friday afternoon.
"I truly believe what my [classroom] door says, 'What happens here is going to transform the world,'" Graves said. "...but they really took it to heart, pushed it, shared it with their families and friends, and I was blown away at the amount. It was really cool."
