Nampa Police detectives are investigating what they’re calling a “suspicious death” at the Southwest Idaho Treatment Center at 16160 11th Avenue North.

Staff members found a 27-year-old male resident dead in his bed shortly before 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Nampa Police Lt. Eric Skoglund.

“We are treating this as a suspicious death,” Skoglund said. “At this point, there does not appear to be any signs of foul play.”

The man’s name was not released, pending notification of family members.

Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris says an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The Center treats people with severe disabilities.
