24-year-old Kayla Teton is behind bars tonight charged with first-degree murder.
Nampa Police say they received a call at 5:30 Sunday morning from people who had witnessed an attack.
They responded to the 500 block of E. Florida in Nampa where they found the body of a 52-year-old woman.
After speaking with multiple witnesses they identified Teton as their primary suspect.
Police say a tip from a citizen helped them in their search.
"At approximately 8:30 this morning we received a phone call from a witness saying that Kayla was trying to get into a residence in the 1000 block of Holly. Officers responded to that area and set up a perimeter and then conducted an area check on foot, ultimately locating Kayla," said Sgt. Jason Cantrell of the Nampa Police Department.
Teton was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Jail a charge of first degree murder.
