More parking changes could be coming to downtown Boise.

At its Monday afternoon meeting, the Capital City Development Corporation board voted to hold a public hearing on whether some 400 downtown parking garage spaces should be converted from hourly to monthly rates.

The spaces are located in the Boulevard parking garage, the Capitol Terrace parking garage, the City Centre parking garage; and the Myrtle Street parking garage.

A recent study showed that, due to an anticipated higher demand for downtown parking spaces over the next five years, almost 460 spaces may be eliminated.

The City Council recently approved a new pricing system, designed to increase parking meter rates in the downtown Boise core area.

The public hearing is scheduled to be held during the next CCDC board meeting on Monday, March 14th at noon at the CCDC offices, 121 North 9th Street, Suite 501.
