Mattel makes a huge donation to 6 On Your Side’s Annual Toys for Tots Drive -- thanks to the efforts of a Boise man.
Realtor Ed Lynch (who’s an avid Channel 6 viewer) said he has fond childhood memories of always receiving toys for Christmas -- so, through a chance discussion and a family member, he arranged this year to help kids who are not so fortunate.
"My daughter-in-law came up here to Idaho to visit for (and observe) the eclipse. We were sitting around a table. I knew she worked for Mattel for years, but I didn't know what she did. So I asked her, 'Is there any chance you could talk to somebody at Mattel and maybe get some toys up here (for Toys for Tots)?’ and she said, 'Yeah, I'm the one that does that.’”
The efforts by Lynch and his daughter-in-law resulted in a literal mountain of toys being delivered from Mattel to our Nampa studios -- in fact, several thousand dollars worth of toys that are waiting to be donated to the Toys for Tots.
And toys that will certainly brighten Christmas for a lot of children and their families.
