BOISE, ID – A Meridian man died in a single-vehicle crash on I-84 milepost 59 near Eisenman road on Friday.
On Friday, July 8, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Richard Rollins, 34, of Meridian, was driving westbound in a 2005 Kia Rio. Rollins drove into the median where he overcorrected. The vehicle came back up onto the lanes and rolled, coming to rest on its roof on the right shoulder where it caught on fire.
Rollins was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Traffic was diverted for approximately three and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
