Man dead, deputy injured in Mountain Home

One man is dead and an Elmore County Deputy injured after an incident in Mountain Home.

Police were called to a report of a man with a gun at the Rose Garden Trailer Park around 11:30 Monday night.  Both Elmore County Deputies and Mountain Home Police officers were on scene.

When they found a man matching the description in the call they confronted him and police say he attacked officers.  A deputy sheriff and police officer defended themselves by opening fire.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputy received multiple stab wounds and was treated and released from the hospital for non-life threatening injuries  The police officer was not injured.

The Elmore County Sheriff says the incident is still under investigation and no names will be released at this time.
