Man charged in Boise stabbing death

A 24-year-old Nampa man is now facing several charges after a fatal stabbing at a Boise night club early Saturday morning.

Jesus M. Garcia is now facing the following charges:  Second degree murder (F), Aggravated battery (F), Possession of a controlled substance (F), Probation violation (F) – 2 counts.

Boise Police say Garcia is facing second degree murder charges in relation to the death of Daviel Ruiz-Gomez.

According to the Ada County Coroner, Ruiz-Gomez died from multiple stab wounds. A second stabbing victim was also injured in the incident and treated at the hospital.

Boise Police officers responded to a call of a stabbing with two victims around 1:40 am on January 14th.  While the first responding officers attended to the victims, other officers worked to control the scene and speak with witnesses. Witnesses identified the suspect as 24-year-old Jesus Garcia. 

Officers searched the suspect and found a substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.  Garcia was taken into custody and arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and two probation violations. 

Boise Police detectives continued to investigate and found evidence that the two victims were stabbed by Jesus Garcia during an altercation.

Wednesday evening officers charged Garcia with second degree murder and aggravated battery.  

Garcia remains in the Ada County Jail.
