Two people are behind bars this morning after a detective noticed some suspicious activity outside of a convenience store near 10th and Chicago Thursday night.
Two men seemed to do a drug deal in the parking lot and after one man drove away officers tried to pull him over for speeding. The driver continued to drive toward I-84 while throwing a white substance out the window.
Officers chased the car as it sped up to 97 mph. Finally, Payette County Deputies used a spike strip to stop the driver, who got out of the car and ran away.
It didn't take long for officers to find the man, Alvin Ramirez, hiding in some sagebrush. He was treated for minor injuries in a hospital. His passenger, Yesenia Ortiz, was arrested for resisting and obstructing officers.
