Boise State University hosted a gathering for friends and family of Sierra 'Simon' Bush at the Jordan Ballroom Wednesday night. Anecdotes painted a portrait of a young life lit by intellect, passion, and joy of sharing the best of herself with others.

"It's really sad this had to happen to someone so young and so vibrant," said Katie McCall, a Boise State University student.

Sierra Bush's body was identified after being located on Saturday, October 22, 2016, in an outdoor location south of Idaho City in Boise County.

She was reported missing September 24th after being last seen near her home.

"Boise State wants to be able to hold her family close to us, to help them understand how she will not be forgotten," said Bob Kostra, Boise State Univeristy President.

The investigation into her death is ongoing.

A service is scheduled for October 29, 2016, Saturday, at 2pm, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 3430 North Maple Grove Road.

A GoFundMe page to help raise expenses for her funeral has been established.
