Spring Break travel trips for Boise Airport
Thousands of families are ready and rarin' to hit the road.
Spring break is here for most of the valley and that means crowds at the airport.
Add that to heavy construction around the terminal and you have a recipe for possible confusion.
But, we're On Your Side with what you can expect if you're ready to fly.
It may look like the calm before the storm, but the Boise Airport has already seen the effects of spring break.
"Are people leaving early? They are, This week, we've been surprised to see people starting out as early as Wednesday." says Patti Miller with the Boise Airport.
And as travelers arrive, they're confronted with lots of construction.
The new parking garage is well underway and will eventually provide almost another 800 spaces.
"It's on schedule and should be completed before thanksgiving this year." says Miller.
That's the good news. The bad news is it might make things a bit confusing right now.
Miller says long term parking in the lower lot is easy thanks to a regular shuttle that delivers you right to the terminal.
Construction made the cell phone lane too dangerous so, if you're planning on picking someone up, wait for their call in the lower long term parking lot.
"They can go down there, get 20 minutes free in the lot and just wait for their passenger to call and then off you go." says Miller
And don't forget to arrive early. At least an hour should make for a smooth start to your journey.
