The man who killed his wife's lover in a meridian parking lot sentenced to 30 years behind bars.
Before hearing his fate Rob Hall listened to emotional testimony from Emmett Corrigan's family. The family's testimony was very impactful. Family members say Rob Hall's actions ruined their lives. And for the first time we heard from Rob Hall, as he too broke down in tears.

Emmett Corrigan's father was emotional as he looked at Rob Hall and talked to him.
“The second you took that gun out of the holster, you already knew what you were going to with it, didn't ya? You killed my son,” said Michael Corrigan, Emmet’s father.
It was incredibly emotional testimony as Emmett's parents talked about the impact of his death.
“I miss my Emmett; I need him to be here and he should be here,” said Radeane Blackwell, Emmett’s Mother.

Emmett's wife Ashlee Birk was next on the stand.

"This is a picture I took a week before Emmett died,” she said as she held up a photo of her five kids.

“The night itself was a traumatic event for each of us, and the two years that have followed have brought much pain and heartache,” said Ashlee Birk.

Ashlee said she's wished for an apology from Rob Hall, Kandi Hall and even her dead husband.

"I've tried to figure out how, without hearing I'm sorry, Emmet's chance to say I'm sorry isn't here,” said Birk.

But more importantly, Ashlee described the murder's impact on her children.
“I could tell you about my babies pounding on a casket, their hero’s body lying inside; screaming for him to wake up. And screaming at me, because I was telling them we couldn't open the box. I could tell you of nights of them screaming in their beds, because they had a dream a bad guy came in the house and shot them in the head,” said Birk.

Hall broke down several times as he listened. Then it was his turn as he apologized to Emmett’s family and his own.
“I have two daughters. The shock of that night, has shattered my daughters’ lives; I’m so sorry for that,” said Rob Hall as he broke down.
It was also the apology Ashlee has waited for.
“I’m sorry for the shock waves that have shattered Ashlee and her kid’s lives, I’m so sorry,” said Hall.
And his apology to Emmett’s parents.
“For any parent to lose their child, no parent should have to bury their child ever, and I’m so sorry for them,” said Hall.

Rob Hall was taken into custody by corrections officials.

He was sentenced to 30 years; 17 of that is fixed, and 13 indeterminate. He'll be 60 years old when he's eligible for parole.
