MERIDAIN, Idaho -- A closure of the Meridian Road and Pine Avenue intersection will begin Friday, March 22, as part of the Meridian Split Corridor Phase 2 project. Crews will close the intersection at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday and will re-open it before the early morning commute on Monday, April 1. Crews will work until approximately midnight on Friday, though no additional night work is expected during the closure.

Crews will work within the intersection to install storm drain and irrigation crossings. Utility companies will also install services and crews will work to build the new road base and pave a portion of the intersection.

During the closure, vehicles will be detoured to Franklin Road. Those who live near the intersection will be able to access their homes via Pine from the east or west, but will not be able to pass through the intersection.

To access businesses near the Meridian and Pine intersection, vehicles may use Broadway Avenue to Northwest 1st Street – thru traffic is currently closed on Broadway Avenue at Meridian Road; however during the closure at Meridian and Pine, Broadway will be temporarily re-opened to accommodate business access.

Businesses closest to the north and south ends of the project can still be accessed from Franklin or Cherry; those within the closure can be reached by alternate accesses established for the project.
