The Fruitland High School Winter Drum Line has been invited to perform at the USA vs. Serbia Davis Cup tennis match at Boise State University in the Taco Bell Arena April 4-7.

This is an international sporting event and will be a nationally-televised performance, featuring the top men's tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic of Serbia.

"This is an amazing opportunity that has come our way thanks to Dr. Joe Tornello, Director of the Blue Thunder Marching Band at Boise State," Fruitland High School Band Director Joel Williams said. "We are honored to accept this invitation."

Tornello made the recommendation of Fruitland's Winter Drum Line performing at the event.
The drum line will rehearse for the event Thursday night, April 4, and then will perform at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 5 inside Taco Bell Arena as a full percussion ensemble. Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and April 7, performances will be outside the arena. Both will be a batterie percussion ensemble only, which includes snare drums, tenor drums, bass drums and cymbals. Saturday's performance will take place at noon, while Sunday's performance will be at 11 a.m.

Students taking part in the April 5 performance will be allowed to stay and watch the event after the performance.
