Two arrested in vandalism spree
Two men are behind bars, charged in connection with a string of vandalism is Boise.
Over the past three weeks, Boise Police received more than 90 reports of vandalism from victims in Boise neighborhoods.
Officers determined the suspects used slingshots and steel marbles in the majority of the crimes -- breaking windows on parked vehicles, homes and other targets late at night or early in the morning.
Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers and Property Crimes Detectives said they have evidence that indicates the suspects are involved in similar vandalism reports received in Canyon County and parts of Ada County. The damage to vehicles and other property is estimated to exceed $30,000.00.
"This is an expensive crime, but there is an additional cost to the innocent victims who discovered their vehicles have been damaged for no apparent reason," says neighborhood contact officer Terry Weir. "Boise is a family-oriented community, and this kind of random senseless crime really effects our neighborhoods."
Warrants were issued for the arrest of the two suspects. Tyler Bartlet was arrested in Canyon County on Friday March 15th. He’s charged with malicious injury to property, a felony. Devon Anderson was taken into custody Monday in Ada County on the same charge.
