BOISE, Idaho -- On Friday, March 8, the community came together to raise $19K for a potentially life-saving leukemia treatment for nine-year-old Avrey Walker.

Funds were raised by collaboration between Boise and Garden City Dutch Bros. Coffee locations and community members.

Dutch Bros. Boise donated all proceeds from its six stores that day, resulting in $16K raised, and the community filled donation jars with an additional $3K.

Dutch Bros. Boise would like to thank all the people who came out last Friday to support the Walker family in their time of need. Funds will aid the family with medical costs not covered by insurance and expenses from traveling to Philadelphia for the procedure.

Avrey was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007 and is suffering her third bout with the disease after five years of chemotherapy. Avrey will be the 6th or 7th person to ever receive this experimental treatment, which has eliminated all traces of cancer in some of the other patients.

If you didn’t make it by a Dutch Bros. on the 8th, you can also support the Walker family by going to any Wells Fargo bank, Sterling Bank, or online at http://bit.ly/WZ28I2.
