Ex-prison official charged with sex with inmate
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A former Idaho State Correctional Institution officer has been arrested on charges he had sex with at least one inmate at the men's prison.
On Monday, the Ada County prosecutor's office charged 30-year-old Roberto Guiller Escobedo with two counts sexual contact with a prisoner. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison upon conviction.
Escobedo was booked in the Ada County Jail Thursday.
Spokesman Jeff Ray declined to detail the charges against Escobedo or whether the former prison official is accused of having sex with two inmates or one inmate twice.
The Idaho Statesman reports Escobedo worked at the state Correction Department from 2010 until January.
