ITD: Chinden Boulevard traffic restrictions begin Monday night
The Idaho Transportation Department said it will restrict Chinden Boulevard, about 750 feet east of Eagle Road, beginning Monday night -- while crews add a raised median. The median will help direct traffic safely on and off the roadway.
Construction was shut down during the winter. ITD is scheduled to complete the project this spring.
At least one lane in each direction will remain open from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. All business access will remain open. Lane restrictions will last until late March.
The Eagle Road Construction Project began in summer 2012. When complete, the improvements will preserve the surface of Eagle Road, relieve congestion and improve safety on this important corridor, said an ITD spokesman.
The remaining work to complete the project includes restriping the roadway between Franklin Road and Idaho 44 and finishing sidewalks and landscaping at the Chinden and Eagle intersection.
