UPDATE: Caldwell Police arrest wanted man; schools lockdown lifted

Police have arrested a man after a search in north Caldwell promoted the lockdown of six area schools.

Late Friday morning, local law enforcement officers were following up on information about the location of a fugitive out Colorado believed to be in the north Caldwell area, near KCIOD road and Highway 20/26.

Officers arrived at a home in the 1900 block of Dorchester in Caldwell. When officer arrived to serve an arrest warrant, the suspect ran from the rear of the house.

Officers lost site of the man and up a perimeter in the area.

Police later arrested Warren Dale Watson.

For security purposes, officers were assigned to each of the six schools -- Thomas Jefferson Charter School, Vision Charter School, Head Start, Sage Valley Middle School, Desert Springs Elementary School, and Van Buren Elementary school.

After the suspect was captured, the schools were taken off lock down and students and teachers resumed a normal school day.
