Jose Silva, 30, of Boise, pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Boise to distribution of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Wendy Olson said.

According to the plea agreement, Silva admitted last year that he sold meth to a confidential informant.

The charge is punishable by up to twnety years in prison, a maximum fine of $1 million, and at least three years of supervised release, Olson said.

Silva is scheduled to be sentenced June 17, at the federal courthouse in Boise.

Investigators said Silva is one of 23 people charged as a result of a long-term investigation by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force. The investigation began when the Task Force focused on illegal drug distribution by the Aryan Knights, a gang investigators said is active both in prison and on the streets throughout Idaho.
