Idaho man arrested for 2nd-degree kidnapping
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- Police in Idaho Falls have arrested a Dubois man on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping and burglary after a family reported being held against their will.
Police arrested 23-year-old Josue Andres Rodriguez Tuesday night.
A man told police that Rodriguez approached him outside his apartment Monday morning and asked to use a cellphone. The man said he did not have a phone and Rodriguez started acting erratically.
The man told investigators Rodriguez followed him back to his apartment, forced the door closed and asked to see how much money he had before starting a physical fight. The victim's wife took their 2-year-old child, climbed out the window and called police.
The man said he put Rodriguez into a choke hold until he passed out.
