UPDATE: Boise man arrested in connection motel murder
Police have arrested a man in relation to a suspicious death at a Boise motel. Thomas Herman, 55, Boise, has been booked at the Ada County Jail on a charge of first degree murder.
Boise Police received a report of what they called a disturbance at a motel on the 1600 block of Main Street about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. Officers who responded found a woman dead in a motel room at the Cabana Inn and the suspect nearby.
Officers say the victim is known to the suspect. During the investigation, officers say they obtained evidence connecting the Herman to the murder. Officers say it appears no one else is involved and they feel there is no further threat to the community.
The press release said the man was expected to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge Wednesday.
The woman's name has not yet been released, but Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg said she died from blunt force trauma sustained during an assault.
