Boise Police officers investigating purse theft

Boise Police officers responded to a purse theft late Sunday night at the Boise Airport. A citizen who saw news reports of the crime called in a tip that led to officers identifying the person of interest. The case remains under investigation.

The case started Sunday at 11:55 p.m. when a woman's purse had been stolen from the upstairs arrival waiting area in the Boise Airport. The victim told Boise Police officers working in the Airport Unit she accidentallly left her purse unattended. According to Police, the male suspect was seen waiting in the arrival area and sat by the purse once the owner left. The man then briefly met with a female subject at the Boise Airport at 11:50 p.m. and were both seen walking back toward the purse. The purse was gone when the couple left.

The purse contained various items belonging to the victim including some needed prescription medication.
