Reporter Eric Fink shows us what it takes to get a concealed carry permit
The prospect of increased gun control laws has more Idahoans rushing to buy weapons. And, that's led to a huge increase in those seeking a concealed weapons permit.
Robert Krone is a licensed NRA firearms instructor who holds concealed carry classes each month at his Nampa gun shop. Since the tragedy in Newtown, Conn. last December Krone says enrollment has greatly increased.
"We've gone from one class a month to two full classes a month," Krone said. "We're signing people up, 50 percent of the class are women."
Concealed carry instructor Mark Layman is a former Canyon County police officer.
"People are worried," Layman said. "People that have never bought guns before are now buying guns. What they're telling me is they're worried about losing their rights to own a gun and then once they get a gun, they want to get the training to know how to use it properly."
We sent Today's 6 and Fox 9 reporter Eric Fink to class. Eric shows us what one needs to do to obtain his or her permit.
