Doors added for security in Burley elementary schools

Additional doors being added to two elementary school in Southern Idaho. The new doors will enable the schools to keep children safe.

School officials say Mountain View and Declo elementary schools were built in the 1970’s with an open-classroom design. Reducing the number of inner walls and doors. Concern for student safety has increased following the December shootings in Newton, Ct.

Donated doors were installed in the school but seven classrooms still are in need of doors. Plans to install additional doors have been made during spring break.
