More missionaries, less students
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints announced on Oct. 6 it was lowering minimum age requirements for missionaries. From 21 to 19 for women and from 19 to 18 for men.
The Church says mission applications have increased two-fold. 58 new missions will be created around the world to accommodate for the influx.
Nine Utah colleges have reported enrollment is down 1-7 percent compared to last year. They expect larger decreases in the fall. And expect to lose millions in tuition over the next few years.
