Boise Police have arrested a man in relation to the death of a woman whose body was found in an east Boise home Thursday.

Bruce Macomb, 62, of Boise has been booked into the Ada County Jail on a first degree murder charge.

Officers responded to a citizen request for a welfare check at a home on the 1600 block of West Warren Street Thursday around 4:00 p.m.

According to Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower, “Before officers had the chance to contact the occupants of the home, the suspect (later identified as Bruce Macomb) left the home with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury to his neck. Officers discovered the body of the victim inside the home. The suspect and the victim are husband and wife.”

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment to what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds.

The suspect was discharged from the hospital Friday and booked at the Ada County Jail.

Earlier Friday, Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg identified the victim as Beba Macomb, 58. Sonnenberg said the cause was “asphyxiation due to manual strangulation.”
