Wendell student arrested, brought BB gun to school
WENDELL, Idaho (AP) -- Police in Wendell have arrested a 17-year-old boy who reportedly fired a BB gun at fellow students in the Wendell High School parking lot.
No one was injured in the incident over the lunch hour on Tuesday and school officials quickly confiscated the weapon.
Wendell Police Sgt. Jeff Lenker says officers an investigation revealed the boy also brought a gun to school last Friday.
Superintendent Greg Lowe says the school followed district policy, which has a "zero tolerance" for students who bring weapons to school. Students who bring guns to school can be expelled for at least a year under federal law.
