COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- Two stores in northern Idaho have reported the theft of cardboard with an estimated value of more than $15,000.

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports the Fred Meyer store in Coeur d'Alene reported the theft of 100 bales of cardboard worth $100 each in early January.

Managers at the Walmart in Hayden, about 3 or 4 miles north of the Fred Meyer store, reported a total of $5,400 in cardboard was taken on Jan. 27 and Feb. 11.

A Fred Meyer employee said they realized the cardboard was missing after reading about the Walmart theft in the newspaper.

Surveillance video from the Walmart theft shows a man loading the cardboard on a flatbed trailer with a forklift.
