3 rough-legged hawks shot near Idaho Falls
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Idaho Fish and Game officials say three rough-legged hawks were illegally shot this month west of Idaho Falls.
A Fish and Game statement says one hawk died and another was euthanized due to its injuries after being transported to the Teton Raptor Center in Wilson, Wyo.
The third hawk also was transported to the raptor center with a wound in the chest, which was affecting its breathing.
It is illegal to shoot rough-legged hawks, which migrate to Idaho and Wyoming from the Arctic.
Fish and Game officials are seeking anyone with information about the shooting.
