Boise Police search for witnesses in Boise man's death
Possible road rage in connection
BOISE - Boise Police are asking for witnesses in a series of what may be reckless driving or possible road rage that began on Vista Ave, continued down the Interstate to Franklin Road and resulted in a person of interest being taken into custody in south Boise.
One man was found with serious injuries inside a vehicle in the westbound lane on Franklin Rd. after a passer-by called authorities. He was later prounonced dead after being transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
Killed was Mathew Mohler-Kerns, 28, of Boise. His death was the result of a single gun shot to the head.
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed reckless driving or possible road rage behavior last night involving the male driver of a white Chevy Prism beginning about 8:00p.m. in the intersection of S. Vista Ave and W. Canal Street.
The drivers are believed to have proceeded westbound on I-84 from Vista to Franklin Rd. involving an incident that occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. in the westbound lanes of W. Franklin Rd just east of Benjamin Lane.
Officers have evidence one shot was fired on Franklin Road. A person of interest was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 last night in a neighborhood near S. Cole and W. Amity Roads.
The investigation remains ongoing. Information is being released as the investigation allows.
