Hailey mayor: County officials aren't serious about new airport
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- The Hailey mayor says Blaine County officials aren't serious about considering a new location for an airport to serve passengers flying into the resort area of central Idaho.
Mayor Fritz Haemmerle says that Blaine County officials are "just giving lip service" to the idea of a replacement airport for Friedman Memorial Airport.
Haemmerle says he's concerned temporary improvements to Friedman recommended by the Federal Aviation Administration could become a permanent solution.
