Toddler seriously injured in BB gun shooting

The Caldwell Police Department is investigating the BB gun shooting of a 14-month-old.

On Thursday, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2800 block of S. Montana in Caldwell, to assist paramedics in a call involving a 14-month-old toddler that had been shot.

After officers arrived, they discovered that they boy had possibly been shot by a BB gun. He was transported to West Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment, then was later transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Medical information on the boy is limited, police said, but the injury is listed as “serious.”

Officers said their investigation thus far indicates the gun was fired inside the home by a member of the household.

The investigation is continuing.

No arrests have been made.
