Truck driver robbed at Oregon rest area
Oregon State Police officers are investigating the armed robbery of a commercial truck driver Saturday morning at an Interstate 84 rest area near the town of Stanfield, in northeast Oregon.
Police say, at about 7:00 a.m., a 55-year old commercial truck driver from Alabama returned to his truck after taking items to a trash can. He was reportedly confronted by a man armed with a handgun. The suspect ordered the victim back into his truck, where he robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber then left the area in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian, in his 30s, of average build, with sandy blonde hair to top of ears, wearing a black, long-sleeve thermal shirt, grayish-brown pants, and was using a Bluetooth device in the left ear.
