Coeur d'Alene Police: Man in SpongeBob mask robbed coffee stand
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- Police in northern Idaho say they're searching for a man who robbed a drive-up coffee stand while wearing a SpongeBob SquarePants mask.
Coeur d'Alene Police Sgt. Brett Walton says the man displayed a handgun during the Wednesday night robbery, and though police set up a 15-block perimeter and called in a K-9 tracking team, they didn't manage to trap the suspect.
Walton says nearby surveillance cameras caught images of the suspect, who was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweat shirt as well as the mask depicting popular children's cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants.
