Area law enforcement agencies now hiring new officers
Boise, Jan. 29, 2013 - Boise Police is hiring for Police Officers. This is first time since 2009 the department is testing for entry level, non-certified officer candidates. The department is hoping to hire approximately 15 new officers this spring and summer. The new hires will fill positions open due to retirements.
"BPD is a department where officers choose to spend their entire career. It's both an exciting and rewarding place to work," said Boise Police Deputy Chief William Bones. "The Boise Police Department and the City of Boise offer an excellent career opportunity for those interested in making a positive difference in the community where they live and want to raise their families."
This department is large enough to offer a variety of training, specialties and career advancement, while still having the feel of family. The people of BPD enjoy their jobs, they love the people they work with, and they're committed to making Boise a better, safer place. You couldn’t ask for a better career"
To apply, please go to the Join BPD web site.
The department does honor the value of military training and experience by accepting military service in lieu of a portion of the 64 semester college academic credits to apply.
Applications are also being taken for experienced officers. Testing dates are coming up March 2nd and April 20th at Boise State University.
Also, Oregon State Police are recruiting for new troopers to add to their roster. Persons interested in applying have until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30th to submit an application at the OSP website.
