Blackfoot man pleads guilty in fatal crash case
POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a Blackfoot man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for his role in a traffic crash last summer that killed a passenger in his vehicle.
Twenty-one-year-old Kendall Perry entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Pocatello.
Perry was indicted by a federal grand jury for causing a roll-over crash on June 30 that led to the death of Cullen Fightsover. Investigators say Perry was driving while intoxicated and recklessly. A crash reconstructionist testified that Perry was driving at a speed of 74 mph in a 50 mph speed zone, ran a stop sign and drove through an intersection before losing control and rolling into a field.
He faces up to eight years in prison and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing is set for April 29.
