Boise man pleads guilty in infant son's death
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A 20-year-old Boise man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the December 2011 death of his 3-month-old son.
Reynaldo Lucas Sanchez entered his plea Wednesday.
Sanchez's son, Adrien, died of blunt force trauma to the head after being injured on Dec. 16, 2011. Sanchez said the boy had fallen out of an infant bouncy seat, but investigators determined the injuries were not consistent with such a fall.
Ada County prosecutors plan to seek a life sentence for Sanchez that allows him to ask for parole after serving 20 years. Sanchez can ask for a lesser sentence, but he must serve at least 10 years.
Fourth District Judge Timothy Hansen scheduled sentencing for April 9. He is not bound by the plea agreement.
