Freezing rain made for hazardous driving conditions, delays, school closures
Here’s an update of road conditions and school closures this morning due to the hazardous weather conditions.
ROADS:
From midnight to 8 a.m. today in Ada County, police and deputies responded to four crashes involving injuries, 37 crashes with no injuries, and 32 reports to either slide-offs or stalled vehicles.
Maintenance trucks from the Ada County Highway District took to the streets at 2 a.m. today, putting down sand, salt an de-icer.
UPDATE: At about 1:30 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced that the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 are now open. The westbound lanes between mileposts 95 and 137 remain closed.
Earlier today, the Idaho State Police reported both the westbound and eastbound lanes of I-84 from Broadway Avenue in Boise to Bliss were closed to due hazardous conditions.
MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE:
All off-base personnel are being instructed to stay home today, due to the hazardous roads.
SCHOOLS:
The ADRIAN SCHOOL DISTRICT is closed.
Schools in the BRUNEAU-GRANDVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed
Schools in the BOISE SCHOOL DISTRICT are open. But buses will be running late due to icy road conditions
The CALDWELL ADVENTIST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is closed.
All schools in the CALDWELL SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed.
The CASTLEFORD School is closed today due to frozen pipes.
Classes and regular COLLEGE OF IDAHO operations are canceled today. Bon Appetit will remain open to serve meals.
All COLLEGE OF WESTERN IDAHO classes and office buildings will have a late start today. they will open at 1 p.m.
The FALCON RIDGE PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL in Kuna is closed.
The GLENN'S FERRY SCHOOL DISTRICT is closed.
Classes in the GREENLEAF FRIENDS ACADEMY in Greenleaf are canceled.
The HERITAGE COMMUNITY CHARTER SCHOOL is closed.
All schools in the HOMEDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed
Schools in the HORSESHOE BEND SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed.
The THOMAS JEFFERSON CHARTER SCHOOL in Caldwell is closed.
The LEGACY CHARTER SCHOOL in Nampa is closed.
The LIBERTY CHARTER SCHOOL in Nampa is closed.
All schools in the MERIDIAN SCHOOL DISTRICT are open, and buses are on their regular schedule.
Schools in the MIDDLETON SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed
Schools in the NAMPA SCHOOL DISTRICT are closed.
The MOUNTAIN HOME SCHOOL DISTRICT is closed.
The RICHARD MCKENNA CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL in Mountain Home is closed,
