Valley County man jailed on child sex abuse charges

The Valley County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation into child sexual abuse case, involving at least two victims.

According to Valley County Sheriff Patti Bolen, deputies arrested Michael Lynn Collins, 50, of Donnelly, on Jan. 15th. He was jailed on two counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Police say Collins knew the two female victims, both described by authorizes as being in their mid-teens.

“Our investigation is still ongoing to see if there are other victims out there,” said Valley County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Dan Smith. “We know the abuse went on for some time, at least one year.”

Police are releasing few other details about the case, only to say that Collins knew the two victims. The abuse reportedly took place at Collins’ home.

He appeared in court January 16th and his bond was set at $150,000, the Sheriff said. At last check, Collins was still incarcerated the Valley County Jail.
