Gun rallies planned for Saturday in Idaho
Participants encouraged to openly carry weapons as allowed by law
Gun advocates in Idaho are planning rallies in Idaho and encouraging participants to openly carry weapons as allowed by Idaho law in support of their 2nd Amendment rights.
A Second Amendment rally and gun appreciation event is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Black Sheep Sporting Goods in Coeur d'Alene.
Also on Saturday at 12 noon in Boise, The Republican Liberty Caucus of Idaho is presenting a “Guns Across America” rally in the Capitol Rotunda. The group is encouraging all gun owners to show up in support of the 2nd Amendment to enjoy the fellowship of other gun owners and discuss gun-related issues.
Russell Thruston, an organizer for the Boise event, says shooting professionals from area shooting clubs will be on hand to provide information about firearms, firearm safety, and firearm issues.
Thurston also said that the proper permits to assemble in the Capitol Rotunda were filed and approved by Capital Mall Security. Security is well aware and prepared for rally participants who may choose to attend the event with their firearms on state property. However, attendees must do so under what is allowed by Idaho law, either through conceal or carry permits or the open-carry law.
Organizers say for both Coeur d’Alene and Boise events guest speakers will include state lawmakers.
