Meth use in the presence of children leads to Felony charges

Boise Police responded to a report of an unconscious driver sitting in a running car at a convenience store on the 1500 block of South Orchard Street on Wednesday at approximately 5:00 p.m.

As officers contacted the driver, they observed syringes and other items of drug paraphernalia sitting in plain sight in the vehicle. As the suspect exited the vehicle to speak with officers a small package containing approximately 2 grams total package weight of Meth fell on the ground.

Two children in the vehicle at the time, who are under the age of five, were declared to be in imminent danger and turned over to the custody of agents with the Idaho State Department of Health and Welfare.

The suspect, Shannon C. Ferdig Jr, 21, Boise was booked at the Ada County Jail on Possession of a Controlled Substance, Injury to a Child, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
