On Wednesday an off duty Meridan Police Officer witnessed a male juvenile committing a car burglary in the parking lot of the Idaho Arts Charter School in the 1200 block of 5th St N, in Nampa. The Officer Called Nampa Police and then confronted the juvenile, who then dropped the stolen items and ran.

Nampa police officers responded and set up a perimeter in the area and were able to locate some of the suspect’s property. From there they were able to track the subject to a house less than a block away from where the original theft had occurred. Officers were able to locate the juvenile suspect in the residence and he was taken into custody.

The owner of the vehicle was identified and her property was returned.

This is a good reminder to keep car doors locked and remove or conceal anything of value.

An adult male, from inside the residence, was also arrested on an unrelated charge of violating a no contact order.
