Idaho man gets 30 years for lewd conduct
A 29-year-old southwest Idaho man who posed as an 18-year-old woman on the internet as an introduction ploy to lure two 15-year-old girls into sex with him has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Steven Ward of Nampa was sentenced Friday in 3rd District Court and must serve at least 10 years in prison before he is eligible for parole. He previously pleaded guilty to felony lewd conduct with a minor.
Authorities say Ward was also convicted of lewd conduct with a minor in 2002.
Canyon County Prosecutor Bryan Taylor argued for a lengthy sentence by noting Ward had re-offended and it was clear he wouldn't stop preying on innocent children.
