Rhodes Bake-N-Serv announces Caldwell plant closure
CALDWELL -- Rhodes Bake-N-Serv announced Friday that it will shut down production at its Caldwell plant. The company plans to consolidate all production into their Columbus, Wisconsin plant for production efficiency and to reduce freight costs.
The company said that the Caldwell plant will reduce production in February and produce with a limited staff until April 15.
Kenny Farnsworth, the president of Rhodes, released a statement that said: “Consolidation of production to one plant has been a very difficult decision for us to make because of our 49 hardworking employees who will be affected. We appreciate our dedicated employees, many of whom have been with us for decades. We are grateful to them and to the community.”
Employees of the Caldwell Rhodes plant will be offered severance and help to secure new employment.
In the future, the Caldwell plant will be used as a Rhodes distribution center for the Northwest.
