Land O’Lakes, Inc. Thursday donated 40,000 pounds of their macaroni and cheese to the Idaho Foodbank in Boise.

The donation is Land O’Lakes forty-eighth donation in the First Run program. As part of First Run, Land O’Lakes has committed to donate truckloads of fresh product -- made specifically for donation -- to food banks quarterly to help alleviate hunger nationwide. This donation of macaroni and cheese is the equivalent of 33,333 meals or enough to feed a family of four dinner every night for almost 23 years, a company news release said,

“As a national, farmer-owned cooperative, Land O’Lakes is committed to help the growing number of people who struggle to put food on their table,” said Land O’Lakes Foundation Executive Director Lydia Botham. “The First Run program provides an unique opportunity for Land O’Lakes to provide a fresh, nutritious product to families that can enjoy it.”
