Man arrested after threats at Eugene care facility
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Eugene police detectives found a loaded AR-15 semiautomatic rifle in the bedroom of a man arrested after authorities were told he made veiled threats to workers at an adult care facility.
Police say 45-year-old Scott Alan Gorman was unhappy about the treatment of a relative, and he made comments in person and by telephone that included references to his guns. They didn't identify the relative or the facility.
The Eugene Register-Guard reports Gorman was arraigned Wednesday on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and violating his probation from a conviction for unlawful use of a weapon.
Records show Gorman was convicted in 2011 after a confrontation with another person and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and three years of probation.
