Last year the State of Idaho spent more than $1.3 billion on personnel costs, employing more than 24,000 people, according to a new report by Idaho State Controller Brandon Woolf.

"Given the magnitude of state government operations, people should be very interested in how their government spends their tax dollars," said Woolf.

State Controller Woolf has released Idaho's 2013 Legislative Handbook, which provides a review of Idaho's state workforce and employment statistics.

"The Legislative Handbook shows a current snapshot of Idaho's workforce and historical trend information," explained Controller Woolf. "Policy makers need this type of data to make informed decisions."
