Boise Airport to relocate cell phone waiting area during construction
With construction to begin soon on the new parking structure at the Boise Airport, there will be some changes for visitors.
The cell phone waiting area at the Boise Airport is currently located along the entrance road at the airport, but the area will be relocated during the parking garage expansion as the area will be used to stage construction equipment.
"In an effort to maintain passenger convenience during construction, the Boise Airport will provide an alternate location for the mobile phone waiting area," said Patti Miller with BOI. "Meeters and greeters can wait in the Economy Lot located on Victory Road near I-84 and the Orchard overpass west of the airport for up to 20 minutes for free. As with the current Cell phone waiting area, drivers must stay with their vehicles while they await a call from their passenger. Drivers exceeding the free 20 minutes will be charged the standard hourly rate of 75 cents per 30 minute interval."
The surface lot for short term parking will be closed during construction, but drivers picking up passengers can park in short term parking available in the first floor of the current garage throughout the construction period.
Construction is scheduled to begin Jan. 3, and is expected to last until Thanksgiving 2013.
