Chain reaction causes 17-vehicle crash Thursday near Jerome
Just before 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, Idaho State Police investigated a 17-vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 at milepost 194, east of Hazelton. The chain-reaction crash involved 8 commercial vehicles and 9 passenger cars.
"Heavy fog and icy conditions contributed to the cause of the crash," said ISP. "The Interstate was blocked for approximately 6 hours while units worked to clear the lanes of travel."
I-84 was opened later in the evening to one lane of traffic in each direction. No injuries were reported from the crash.
